With warmer weather on the way the first thing most people like to do is to open the windows to let fresh air into your Clarington home. Then spring cleaning starts. Wiping down the surfaces of your home does not clean the most import aspect of your home – the air.
Dust and allergens accumulate over the winter months and its important to get rid of as much of it as you can. A vacuum alone won’t do what needs to be done. Some dust may be visible on floors and surfaces, most of it is in the air. To get your home the cleanest it can be an air filtration system should be installed.
Choosing an Air Filtration System
there are many different air filtration and purification systems to choose from. Most heating and cooling systems have at least a simple filter that traps the large dust particles and remove them from your air. This is a start, but to have clean air that is free of molds, dusts and allergens you need a high quality filtration system.
There are three basic choices when it comes to air filtration:
- Air Cleaners and Purifiers
- Media Air Cleaners
- Basic Air Cleaners or Filters.
Air cleaners and purifiers. The best air cleaners and purifiers should remove the maximum amount of impurities from the air. They will give the kind of air purity that is required in a medical environment.
Media air cleaners. The medium sized air filtration system is a media air cleaner. These are effective at removing a large percentage of dust, dander, pollen and other allergens from the air.
Basic air filters. The smallest air filtration option is the basic air filter. These filters will remove larger particles, but can let many of the micro allergens pass through and back into the air.
The best air filtration systems use the highest standard in air quality – HEPA filters. These filters capture the smallest microbes and takeaway 99.97% of contaminants and leave clean air.
